New Look

Launch for Madonna clothing line The eagerly-anticipated clothing line designed by Madonna has been launched in H&M stores across the world.

Madonna collaborated with the high street chain's head designer Margareta van den Bosch for the collection, which is said to be based on the singer's own wardrobe.

Included in the line are a variety of formal and casual clothes like tailored jackets - such as one popular white trenchcoat modelled by the Material Girl in the promotional campaign for the range - as well as dresses, lumber jackets and accessories.

H&M says that the range sticks to "neutrally timeless" colours like black, white, khaki, beige and grey, for "pieces to love and to wear season after season".

The new range continues a current trend for celeb clothes in the high street, with Stella McCartney, Kate Moss and Lily Allen some of the fashion icons who have or will be creating ranges for low-price retailers.

However, some media reports claim that the British launch of the M by Madonna range was a low-key affair, with the crowds queuing up outside H&M stores much smaller than those drawn by the recent unveiling of Stella McCartney's line.
